Vicki & Joshua's sidewalk art

Joshua & Vicki love to use sidewalk chalk. Here is some of their latest work.

Pictures

The last time we had a snow day, I think it was March 17th, Joshua asked Vicki to build him a house in the living room with blankets. He usually can get her to do whatever he wants, I think she's wrapped around his finger! I had forgotten about it until today I came across Vicki's Camera, and saw the pictures. I know this last one is sideways, however I just couldn't believe how blue Joshua's eyes were, and wanted to share! He was very proud of his house as you can see and we kept it up an entire day!

Cody's Verse for April

I thought I would share Cody's verse for this month. He has to have it memorized by the end of the month as one of his requirements for honor role. I think we all could benefit from tying to follow this. Myself included.

James 3:2-12

We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.

When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boast. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue is also a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and itself set on fire by hell.

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can salt spring produce fresh water.

I have been contemplating starting a blog for some time now. My reservations may seem silly to some, others however may be able to understand. We have adopted two of children who were previously our foster children. I have a fear that I have not been able to 100% let go that their biological families will try to interfere in the life that has become ours, with these children as our own. I thought if I post a blog maybe that is just opening up or inviting them in so to speak, however after more and more thought I am at peace with going ahead with this! I think if they happen to come across our blog, then perhaps they will be at peace knowing that we are a family, and these children are growing up happy and healthy as part of that.

So I am completely new to doing this, I have done the whole myspace thing, and am starting to feel its a little over rated. Please bear with me as I am learning to post pictures, and change layouts, ect.

My goal is to keep our family and friends updated and included in our daily, sometimes very hectic and busy lives!
