Random stuff
There is a lot off random stuff in this post, so if you're bored it will fill up the next 120 seconds or so of your life. We have been really busy the past few weeks but that is nothing new, in fact I do not know if we would even know how to act if life wasn't that way!
Cody was bit by a dog walking home from my parents on 10-31. I was not happy at all. He begged me to not say anything to the owner, however I did because this is serious. If it would have been Joshua or another younger child in the neighborhood it could have been a lot worse. People need to keep their dogs fenced, chained or inside especially if they are going to bite!

Here is Joshua the day after he got a fat lip from running into a furniture dolly while playing outside at my parents. He was a miserable little guy for a few days. He couldn't eat anything with ketchup and that is hard when you really like ketchup on everything!

The other morning I was downstairs getting the older kids ready for school, and I heard Jaislynn start to fuss on the baby monitor, then she stopped. I thought that was weird because usually she doesn't stop until I've picked her up. When I go upstairs this is what I saw; Josh was on the other side of the bed when I had gotten up, but when he heard her fuss he had scooted by her and comforted her and they went back to sleep. It was so precious I had to get a picture.

Jaislynn loves her swing. It is a lifesaver some days! If I can not get her to take a nap anywhere else, she usually will in her swing.

First stroller ride..... Hopefully we will have some nice days this winter and we will have a few more opportunities to go walking before spring. She liked it as long as we kept moving.

Maycee loves to tell Jaislynn stories and they have some pretty interesting conversations. It is cute!

Maycee would hold her all day if I would let her!

It is REALLY HARD to capture a picture of Cody these days! He usually will look away, or put his hands in front of his face. I think I must have bribed him this time, since Jaislynn was so happy to be in her bubba's lap. Some day he will be happy that I have a few photos from him growing up.

I have to get a lot of pictures of Jaislynn, as she changes everyday right before my eyes it seems! She is so alert and bright eyed when she is awake, it is so much fun!

One day it was just the 3 youngest kids and I home. Maycee and Josh insisted they eat their lunch on the floor so they could talk to Jaislynn the whole time. She enjoyed it, and I was able to get the kitchen cleaned while they entertained her.

This is my phone that I officially DO NOT like at all. I know it is not going to last the 2yrs its supposed to according to the contract. I liked my flip sony ericson much better. That one did last almost 2yrs and I dropped it all the time, the only time it didn't make it was when it was dropped on concrete then immediately a pop spilled on it, so then I got the new "improved" slider version. Let me just say I am not at all impressed. I tend to stick it in my back pocket and forget about it, then it always falls out on the bathroom tile floor and looks like this. I need to research for a good phone for busy moms. If anyone has any suggestions, I am open to anything at this point! It's just frustrating to have to put it back together all the time!

Austin at Halloween, I know, I know it's over a month and now we are on to Christmas, however I was going through my pictures this morning and realized that I hadn't posted anyone but Joshua for Halloween time! Austin changed his mind like 10 times on what he wanted to be, he usually does this, so this time when it came time to go trick or treating this is what he picked. Vicki painted his face, I think it turned out pretty good.

Maycee wasn't going to go trick or treating this year, its a long story. Basically she and Cody had decided that they would like to be grounded for how they were treating each other that week. They took the consequences so well I was feeling horrible about them not getting to go, so I let them go out for the last hour or two, she was happy with the cat costume we threw together last minute, she loves cats!

Last is our little pumpkin, Jaislynn was not thrilled about the whole Halloween activities this year. She was a good sport though and we went to Grandma's, Fred & Nada's, Nana & Papo's, and Papa Jamie's so she could get her share of goodies too! Her brothers and sisters appreciated her coming along since she likes to share her candy, I think she knows next year they will return the favor!

Funny things my 4 year old says.......
Joshua has been saying some really cute things lately. He is so innocent about it, he is still at an age where he is oblivious that what he is saying might be funny, incorrect, or wrong.
Today he overheard Cody asking if he could go to Durhams when he got his homework done. So then Joshua says " I want to go to germs too, can I go with you bubba?" I then explain that it is "Durhams" and that is his Nana, and Papo's last name. That it is "Judy and Richard Durham". He proceeds to disagree, he says "No they are not germs, they are Nana & Papo" I told him everyone has a last name just like him, and that is theirs. He says "no I don't think so I think its Papo O-C" I left it at this for now...We'll be working on first and last names of all the Grandma & Grandpa's this next few days.
Another thing that Joshua has said that is stuck in my mind, I need to write these down each day, because some days it is so funny and by the next day I have forgotten what exactly he said! Anyways thanks to having 2 older brothers who have used the term "nuts" when referring to being hit in ones private area, I think that is where he came up with this scenario. A couple months ago, we were shopping at a furniture store that has 2 floors. We were in the lower level and the next thing I know Joshua has disappeared, he was beside me one second then the next he was gone. So I huffed it up stairs, being very pregnant I was pretty slow even though I was trying to hurry....when I found him I was upset and I grabbed his hand, got down on his eye level and said the first thing that came to my mind " you can not disappear like that, what if a bad guy tried to take you? I wouldn't see you you and be able to help you!" Joshua's response was " Oh don't worry, I will just kick him in the nuts, and then he will be like(Josh drops to the ground dramatizing the hurt bad guy) oh my nuts, my nuts, my nuts." "Then I will run away!" I had a very hard time not laughing at this. We have since talked that it's not ok to say nuts in that context. And that he is not a match for a adult, although he still thinks he's invincible! Boys are every challenging, and fulfilling at the same time.
Playing in the leaves

Joshua decided that he was a barber the other morning, it was quiet(not usually a good sign) I thought he was going to the restroom. However when he came out he had a new haircut. I asked him "Did you cut your hair?" I should have asked "why did you cut your hair?" His response was to tell me he went to sleep and when he woke up someone had cut his hair. I told him he wouldn't be in trouble as long as he told the truth. So then he looks down for a second and then looks me straight in the eyes and says" Ok I cut it" He wasn't in trouble like I'd promised however he has a very short chunk missing right in the middle of his forehead. So his hair will be very short after we get it cut again!
Just goofing off.

He decided to put on a superman cape and his fire fighter helmet,
this picture only begins to show how ornery he is some days.
Can you tell?!

It is amazing how much he loves his little sister. Its hard to believe it's the same little boy that was just being super fireman in the last photo!

Fire Fighter Joshua
Joshua was so proud of his costume this year. He wanted to look like a "real fire fighter" so he asked his dad to get him one of those air "thingies" so he could breath when he goes into a burning house. So Jason explained to Joshua about air packs and told him he would have one by the time for his costume party at preschool. I think that Joshua was pretty happy with the results.

We had to take some side views to show his air pack on.
Ready to rescue!

I had to post this, I thought he looked so cute walking down the steps!
